Jean Howard

Jean Howard, for those of you who don't know, is a Renaissance scholar and a professor at Columbia University who came and spoke at UNC-G's English Department Lecture series in the Faculty center this past Friday. She presented a fascinating paper on debtors' prisons in the early 17th century, including an analysis of their presence in some Renaissance dramas.

Wine Scandals

Last night Sarah Rose, Josh, Chrissy, Emily, and John came over. Some of us drank this wine. But I did some research this morning and found out that although this wine is very good, it is suspected that the Castiglioni company has, in some cases, put an illegal amount of grapes in their wine.
